Abraj

Siraj Al-Wadi is a movie produced by the Basilian Salvatorian Order, and it depicts the life of Fr. Beshara Abu Mrad, a Salvatorian priest.
All began in Zahle, Lebanon, where Salim (Wiliam NASSIF) grew up and where the germ of his vocation was developed with the care of his Mother Elizabeth (Randa KEIDI) and in spite the objection of his father Jabbour (Nazem ISSA).
The story goes on with his first years of the religious life in Deir Moukhalles, and his long pastoral service in Deir Al-Kamar and the surrounding area.
There, Fr. Beshara (Ghassan ESTEPHAN) led a holy life in leading the non-practice people to the Church and helping the poor especially in the famine during World War One, and looking after the prisoners in Beit Ed-Deen...
He spent his last years in Deir El Moukhalles where God bestowed through him many graces and favors upon people who requested his intercession. He was dead in the aroma of holiness on February 22, 1930.
Therefore, his Cause was introduced to the Vatican hopping that he will be declared soon a saint.

فيلم سينمائيّ أنتجته الرهبانيّة الباسيليّة المخلّصيّة، يروي سيرة ابنها البارّ الأب بشارة أبو مراد الراهب المخلّصيّ، من طفولته وبروز دعوته في مدينته زحلة، خاصّة قصّة تمنّع أبيه جبّور دخول ابنه إلى الدير وتوسّط أمّه التقيّة أليصابات لصالح ابنها؛
مرورًا باعتناق سليم جبّور الحياة الرهبانيّة باسم "بشارة"، وسنوات التنشئة الأولى في دير المخلّص ودير الابتداء؛ إلى خدمته الراعويّة الطويلة والمتفانية في منطقة دير القمر وقرى الودايا (سرجبال، بنويتي، وادي بنحليه ووادي الدير...)، لاسيّما غيرته في ردّ الشعب اللاّمبالي آنذاك إلى الكنيسة، وسهره على المدنفين، وعطفه على الفقراء أثناء الحرب العالميّة الكبرى الأولى والمجاعة التي خلّفتها في لبنان، واهتمامه بالمساجين في قصر بيت الدين، وغيرها من أعمال بذل الذات؛
حتّى سنيه الأخيرة والنِعم التي أغدقها الله عن يده، ومن ثمّ وفاته برائحة القداسة في دير المخلّص في 22 شباط 1930.
