Edward Norton Is Not Avengers Hulk

The details are about as murky right now as those trippy, drugged-out, hallucinogenic visions in Ang Lee’s Hulk movie, but apparently Edward Norton will not be playing Bruce Banner/the Hulk in The Avengers movie after playing the character in The Incredible Hulk back in 2008, although he we would like to be.

Hulk

Norton wants to reprise his Hulk character — especially in with Joss Whedon directing and Robert Downey Jr. starring as Tony Stark/Iron Man — but inside sources report that Marvel has pushed him out of the way. The likely culprit? Economic reasons. The company has decided that they are going to cast "an unknown" to play Bruce Banner and The Hulk in the film. Source

X-Men Movie Found Its Cyclops

Unconfirmed reports have KickAssAaron Johnson wearing the Cyclops visor in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class.

x-Men First Class Final Exam

More possible casting news from director Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. Last week we reported that Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League, Sex and the City 2) had been cast as Emma Frost, and now it is reported that actor Aaron Johnson has been cast to play the future X-Men leader Scott Summers/Cyclops. Matt Damon Playing Jason Bourne Again?

Last we heard, the "Bourne" franchise was headed in a new direction without frequent director Paul Greengrass. Leading man Matt Damon has long testified that he would reprise his role as super spy Jason Bourne, and he's echoed those comments in a new interview -- but he insists he'll only return if Greengrass comes back as well.

Bourne Trilogy

"Absolutely yes," Damon said when asked if he'd participate in another "Bourne" movie. "I love the character. I love the stories. But only if Paul Greengrass says he will direct again. So far, though, he's decided not to. I'd definitely say yes if he went for it. I know he would have a great story, and it would protect the legacy of what we created." Source

Sony Pictures selects Andrew Garfield as the new Spiderman

Andrew Garfield After a comprehensive worldwide casting search, Andrew Garfield has been chosen to portray Peter Parker when Spiderman swings back onto the screen in 3D on July 3, 2012. The new film will begin production in early December directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt.

Angelina Jolie is too white to play the role of Cleopatra

Casting of Angelina Jolie instead of a black actress as Cleopatra fuels race debate. The news that Angelina Jolie has been hired to play Cleopatra in an upcoming biopic has some in the African-American community fuming that Jolie is "too white" to play the famous Egyptian pharaoh.

Angelina Jolie as Cleopatra

A commentary entitled Another White Actress to Play Cleopatra? insists: "Honestly, I don't care how full Angelina Jolie's lips are, how many African children she adopts, or how bronzed her skin will become for the film, I firmly believe this role should have gone to a black woman." Source

Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in First Class

Amber Heard may end up stripping naked and covering herself in blue body paint for her next movie role of Mystique in X-Men: First Class.

Amber Heard

Since this is a prequel Heard would be playing a younger version of the shape-shifting character made famous by Rebecca Romijn in the other X-Men films. Physically at least, she seems a suitable replacement. Romijn’s take on the character required almost no dialogue, and the character spends a lot of time as other people (which means being played by other actors), so I’m not sure the part really requires anything beyond the ability to look good naked. Heard has that nailed. Source
